Personal Information
Personal information is data that identifies a Client or is directly associated with a person such as a name, address, contact numbers, email address, credit card number, username, password, or data related to such activities that is directly linked or related to the Client, such as his or her purchases with Pinoy Shopping Mall.
Collection of Personal Information
We collect the Client’s personal information such as when the Client:
Registers to Pinoy Shopping Mall or sign up for membership, subscription with our newsletter and promotions at the Site.
Renews Pinoy Shopping Mall membership
Modifies or updates personal information
Places an order or purchases products or services.
Contacts us for any reason, such us replying to inquiries by email, telephone, or facsimile.
Use of Personal Information
The personal information we collect is generally used to process your requests and transactions, provide you with high-quality service, tell you about opportunities we think will be of interest, and understand your needs so that we can serve you better. We also may use personal information we collect to provide you with promotional information, which is information we believe will add value to your membership, such as coupon savings booklets, or other related promotions. If you prefer not to receive Promotional Information from us, we make it easy for you to let us know. You may contact us at any time to decline promotional information.
We do not sell, rent, share or disclose personal information to third parties without your prior consent, except in the following:
Order processing and fulfillment – The Client’s personal information is limited to the Company interest in processing and fulfilling request or orders made by the Client. We may provide to a third party, e.g., shipping service provider, information that is necessary to fulfill an order the Client has placed with us. However, we give suppliers, and others involved in the business distribution chain only the information needed to provide you the products or services you order, such as shipping and/or billing address, email address, telephone number and product orders. Moreover, we require them to keep the information confidential and not to use it for other purposes. We are not responsible for any additional information you provide directly to these parties, and we encourage you to become familiar with their practices before disclosing information directly to them.
Improvement of Member Services
Pinoy Shopping Mall is committed to continuously improving our services to our Clients. We may use these personal information in good faith for research and development which involve but not limited to marketing efforts offered to our Clients. With these efforts, this does not mean that we will explicitly disclose personal information to any other user or third party research institutions and will remain as such. From time to time, the Client may receive surveys and other similar documents that will help facilitate the research endeavor. These research results will in turn improve our services that will determine whether, or what level, you qualify for promotional products, offerings, or services, and to evaluate new and existing products, offerings, and services.
4. The Client’s Responsibility to Personal Information
a. Although we have adopted security measures to protect personal information of our Clients from loss, misuse or alteration, the Client is responsible for the maintenance and confidentiality of the information you submit through “My Account” and the corresponding password and for restricting access to your computer. Pinoy Shopping Mall highly advise its Client to refrain from disclosing his personal information, primarily his user ID, i.e. his email, and password to any third party or similar entity. Voluntary disclose of the Client’s personal information to any other user apart from the Client will still lead to the Client’s liability and responsibility.
b. The Client should accurately provide information and updates promptly as necessary in order to avoid delays or concerns to particular identity, information, services, and transactions with Pinoy Shopping Mall.
We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time as we see fit. As such, the Client takes the responsibility to check this Privacy Policy periodically. It is the Client’s responsibility to know such amendments. Continued access and/or use of the Site constitute the acceptance of this Privacy Policy as such.
General Security Guides:
Determine and investigate the merchant’s website. If you are unfamiliar with the merchant, research the company online. Avoid merchants with negative feedback from consumers and those who do not disclose complete information about their company. Check with government agencies if they have proper business registration.
Make sure that the merchant uses a secured server. The website address should begin with “http.” Avoid registering on website who immediately asks for your secure information such as your email’s password, bank and credit card information.
Avoid using public or shared computers (internet kiosks, libraries, or computer labs) when shopping and using your credit card online. People with malicious intents can place software that can retrieve sensitive and secure information from the computer workstation that you have type. Make sure that you always practice logging out in all the websites that you have visited.
Keep all records of your online transaction. Make sure that you reconcile all records with the merchant. Report immediately for any discrepancy and clarification. Properly discard your old statements by shredding and destroying it first.
Monitor your credit card transaction report by requesting a copy once every few months to check for any anomalies and possible suspicious transaction.
Don’t give out personal and secure information (like passwords, bank details, etc.) unless you know who are giving it and why it is necessary, what will be done with the information. Make sure you agree to the privacy policy, terms and conditions of the merchant; there is no such policy, consider moving on and shop elsewhere.
Do not use the same password for every site you visit. Make sure that you also change your password from time to time to reduce and minimize the impact of compromise.
